One man had a simple dream: Create a bar where people could openly and freely hate the Boston Red Sox, its name: “Buck Foston’s Road House.” Maybe the hidden meaning is lost on you so try to rearrange those letters just a little bit and you’ll find the message.
New Jersey has a new sports bar: ‘Buck Foston’s’
Now there’s a new place where Yankees fans can hate the Red Sox.

There was one problem, however -- those starched shirts in city hall. New Brunswick, NJ didn’t want a bar to open with an offensive sounding name, so they went to court. One verdict and $1.5 million later the bar owner is free to open “Buck Foston” and the town is forced to pay him a good chunk of money he can use to adorn the place with Yankees memorabilia.
The next logical step is to help some other cities think of their own bars that make fun of teams or places. Here are a few to get you started.
- “Yarn Dankees Wing Stop”
- “Chitty Sardinals Brewhaus”
- “The Chicago Cubs sports bar. Get it? That’s the joke. Also we have some ribs out back”
- “Brappy Craves Artisanal Muffins”

Update: The bar was never actually opened, but with the lawsuit won, it totally could be. (h/t Eric Garment)
