Mere hours ago we had the laziest foul ball catch we’ve ever seen courtesy of the Red Sox, now we have a group of motivated people who are willing to sacrifice life and limb for a free ball. It’s like that thing where they open a new Chipotle and people stand for seven hours to get a free burrito from a trainee. America likes free stuff, okay?!
Perhaps the most tragic fan is this chap who wound up getting the ball.
Look at this fleeting moment of desperation. “If only I was two inches taller,” he said, cursing his gene pool for arms too short to wrap fingers around leather. This fan never gave up, never surrendered and so we salute you.
