Austin Jackson almost robbed a Brandon Moss homer. Almost.

Remember when Grant Brisbee wrote that baseball failure can be beautiful? Add this to the list:

Austin Jackson gets as close as you possibly can to robbing Brandon Moss of a homer. The ball was in his glove! He couldn’t defeat the ball’s momentum with his own, though, and the A’s went up 1-0.

Still, the ridiculous athletic ability of Jackson on display here deserves better than that. He timed his leap perfectly, extended his arm to its limits over the wall, and nearly brought the ball back into play. He was maybe an inch or two further away from the soon-to-be homer than he needed to be to pull it back in all the way, though.
