Here’s Billy Butler getting thrown out at first on a throw from right field

Baseball fans love to argue about which play in baseball is the most exciting. Is it the home run? Is it the triple? Is it the triple play? So many options.

I submit that there’s nothing more exciting than a right fielder humiliating a batter by throwing them out at first base.

Billy Butler did everything right. He did everything right except a) hit it right at an outfielder with a good arm and b) he forgot to not run like a Molina falling down the stairs.

You’ll see attempts to shame slow runners occasionally, but it’s rare to see it work. Well done, Jose Bautista.
