When Shahid Khan bought Fulham from Mohamed Al Fayed last summer, one of his first acts was to remove the Michael Jackson statue from outside Craven Cottage. Then, in their first statue-less season, Fulham were relegated.
Al Fayed: Fulham were relegated because they removed ‘lucky’ Michael Jackson statue
Michael Jackson haunted Fulham into relegation.

Coincidence? Al Fayed thinks not.
“This statue was a charm and we removed the luck from the club and now we have to pay the price,” Al Fayed said while presenting the statue to National Football Museum.
”When (Khan) asked me to move it I said, ‘you must be crazy’. This is such a fantastic statue which the fans are crying out for.
“But now he has paid the price because the club has been relegated. He called me because he told me he wanted Michael to return. I told him, no way.”
Sorted. Fulham were relegated because they brought the wrath of ghost Michael upon them.
Allowing 2.24 goals per match? That didn’t get them relegated.
Selling Dimitar Berbatov in January? Nope, not that.
Thinking Sascha Riether could play football? That wasn’t it either.
Michael Jackson doomed Fulham. And when they realized it, Al Fayed denied them redemption. Now they must go to the second division and pay penance.
