Twerking Corgi is sports

To the untrained eye, this Vine of a twerking Corgi would perhaps not appear to be sports. That would be erroneous, of course, but it’s understandable enough. The layperson’s eye would just see a happy-looking Corgi -- this is redundant, but also this is a very happy-looking Corgi -- getting low, even by the standards of this already notably low-to-the-earth breed.

And this would not be wrong, necessarily, but there’s more to see here than that. The informed, sports-minded viewer sees this Vine first and foremost as game tape, and so can assess our twerking Corgi not as a goofy animal, but as a prospect. Your tape, after all, is your resume. A lot of people forget that.

And by those standards, this video is a different thing entirely. Yes, there are concerns about length and especially focus. The body is a little tubular by pro standards. But those relative negatives pale in comparison to the positives that jump right out of the video: the fluid hips, the pro-grade bubble, the sort of cover instincts that simply can’t be taught. Sure, this Corgi can GET IT. But there’s projectable talent there, too.

So yes, Twerking Corgi is not just sports. It is also a lock to be selected before the end of the fourth round of the NFL Draft, and we’ll stand by that.
