Baseball and wrestling go more hand-in-hand than some fans might imagine, as there’s plenty of overlap between the two fan bases, and many baseball players themselves are huge fans of wrasslin’. That, among other things, makes this “entrance theme” video for Pirates’ rookie Gregory Polanco kind of amazing.
Gregory Polanco goes full Chris Jericho in this WWE worthy entrance
Just don’t break the walls of PNC down, we hear it’s lovely.

Any excuse to use the music of WWE superstar Chris Jericho whenever possible is a good one. It’s particularly fitting for Polanco, though, since Pirates fans were, until recently, counting down the days until the top prospect would get the call to the majors, much like WWE fans 15 years ago once counted down the days until the Jericho unveil and debut.
Polanco and the rest of the Pirates’ young players are something of a “countdown to the new millenium” of Bucs’ baseball, much like Y2J was for WWE audiences back in 1999. If the parallel extends any further, we can expect these Pirates to win their first world title approximately two years from now. If Polanco decides to use that theme music as his own, anyway.
And hey, if nothing else comes of it, we do at least have this fake Titantron video to watch again and again. Even Jericho himself approves of it.
