It’s a sacred date on the holiday for literally dozens of Americans: the NHL Awards show, when we find out who wins the Selke and Vezina and Lady Bing and other trophies you may or may not have heard of.
Cuba Gooding, Jr. is (probably) drunk at the NHL Awards
And it was the best part of the NHL Awards.

It’s an event that could use a little bit of excitement, and this year, that excitement came in the form of Cuba Gooding, Jr. being, well, a tad strangely behaved.
Here’s Cuba telling Mark Messier and Adam Graves to make a Reverse Oreo and then telling one of them not to grab his ass:
And here he is not really congratulating the kid on stage for the presentation of a community service award, then kicking the platform he was standing on even though it did nothing to hurt him:
Some will criticize Cuba Gooding Jr., but not discerning fans:
Cuba Gooding Jr. has saved the NHL Awards.
— Sean Gentille (@seangentille) June 24, 2014 Dear NHL Awards…leave Cuba Gooding Jr. on stage. For the rest of the show. I don't even care if you don't give out any more awards.
— Toucher and Rich (@Toucherandrich) June 25, 2014 Haha, Cuba Gooding taking this NHL awards show to another level.
