Watch Ajax’s player and manager react to being fooled by fake kits

April Fool’s Day was a couple of months ago, but the manager and players of Dutch soccer giant Ajax were on the receiving end of a good old fashioned Summer prank courtesy of Adidas.

Revealing a team’s new kit is always met with fanfare, so the apparel company set up hidden cameras in order to show off a few fake uniforms. Players were told that Adidas was trying to tap into traditional Dutch iconography, which included tulips, clogs and pancake houses. They weren’t impressed.

This was taken a step further with a rainbow tie-dyed kit and a giant screen-printed lion, neither of which were taken kindly. Manager Frank de Boer looked like he wanted to kill someone while being shown the new kits.

Nobody died, luckily and the team received their new kits to a round of grins. de Boer’s murderous rage was satiated and everyone was happy. All’s well that ends well.
