Vin Scully narrates a Dodgers player being set on fire

Vin Scully, finally with some hot takes.

The hotfoot is a grand baseball tradition. Get some matches, some gum, and a player who’s fun to pick on, and you have a grand time. The Dodgers, who moved from 9½ back to first place in a stretch of 53 hours or so, are feeling the fun times. Scott Van Slyke was the target, and Vin Scully was there to keep us interested.

Kind of disappointing payoff, really, other than Van Slyke smelling his hat. But Scully’s call was worth the two minutes of your time. I want to make his “A hotfoot has been scheduled” my voicemail greeting.
