Blackburn Rovers are unveiling their new home kit this week and took a very different approach to other teams. Some clubs might have a hidden camera and show it to their players, others might play an elaborate practical joke on the team’s manager -- but Rovers are simply telling us a story of an old man going on a date.
WHO THE HECK SHAVES WITH THEIR GLASSES ON?
The man featured is Alan “Birdy” Birkbeck, a renowned Rovers super fan. He’s well known among the fan base, but it’s clear Birdy isn’t much of an actor. It starts with him primping himself and showing way too much skin, then ends with him talking right to you, like a British Uncle Sam.
It’s confusing, it’s horrible and it’s wonderful, all rolled into one.
