The World Cup was perfect, well near-perfect. Brazil’s effort at hosting soccer’s biggest show earned a 9.15 in our review of the event but we might have found something that could boost that up to a solid 9.50 -- Doc Emrick.
Emrick makes things better. He’s like cheese. Which goes well with everything except Chinese food (try to find a dish, we defy you). Every night Emrick brings the action in the NHL and when paired with a loud blaring goal horn his addition to a telecast is perfection.
This raises an interesting question: “GOOOOOOOOOOOAL!” or Goal horn? Both are great in their own right. Thankfully we don’t need to make a snap decision and we can just enjoy Emrick for who he is. Since we’re in the mood it’s also an excellent chance to re-live what the Spelling Bee would be like with him.
