Steve Spurrier went to the Gamecocks locker room and ‘jerked a bunch of them off’

Phrasing, Ol’ Ball coach, phrasing!

Recruiting is hard work. Convincing high school kids to get out of bed is difficult enough, let alone asking them to make a major commitment like choosing a college. If you attend South Carolina, Steve Spurrier will teach you lessons about growing up. He’ll also jerk things off.

Okay, so yes -- phrasing is everything. Spurrier was talking about pulling down signs that said “Beat Clemson,” present in the locker room when he arrived in 2005. It was a way to de-emphasize the importance of one game.

That doesn’t mean we won’t forever enjoy this clip.
