Dear friend of SB Nation @cjzero alerted us to something important during the Wimbledon men’s final between Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer. This is quite a discovery.
Kate Middleton is at Wimbledon, doesn’t know how to clap
She’s a problem clapper, Jerry.

Some possible explanations for this ludicrous display:
- Hands sticky from strawberries and cream
- drunj
- Umm ...
- Probably just bad at clapping
Upon a cursory look through our photo tool, we can pretty much verify that the last bullet point is the correct one. Just look at her technique in the following photos.
She calls that one “the invisible ball.”
This one is “the sandpaper”:
And here’s one she calls “oops, I’ve let the parakeet out.”

Here’s Kate, performing “the dainty Hadoken”:

Above is the “take ‘em to church.” (Our photo tool has three different pictures -- all in a row -- from this event that depict Prince William in different states of applause, but the Duchess’ hands are just stuck together like that.)

Above, she is clearly taken aback by a request for a handshake during the unorthodox “twistamagoo.”
And of course, the “finger sniff.”
