With America’s participation in the World Cup over, new and casual fans can turn to the MLS.
MLS player scores, takes out cell phone, takes selfie
Dom Dwyer of Sporting KC found out that celebrating with a selfie earns you a yellow card. We don’t think he’ll mind.

And if they do, they’ll find POST-GOAL CELEBRATORY SELFIES WOOOOO
That’s Dom Dwyer, the English-born forward for Sporting KC, after putting his squad up 1-0 on the Chicago Fire. Yes, he got a yellow card for it.
In case you’re wondering where he got the phone from: a camera man was there to hand it to him:

— Sporting Kansas City (@SportingKC) July 6, 2014 Technology has come so far -- when Joe Horn scored his TD in 2003, all he could do was pretend to talk to somebody on the phone.
Dwyer actually isn’t the only soccer player to take a selfie on-field of late: Third-division English side Scunthorpe was winning a game 5-0, leaving their keeper bored enough to snap a pic with some fans.
