This offseason, the NFL put a rule in place to prevent Jimmy Graham from dunking over the crossbar after scoring touchdowns. Let’s check in on Jimmy Graham to see whether he gives a crap:
Jimmy Graham dunks over goalpost despite rules against Jimmy Graham goalpost dunks
You can put in rules against Jimmy Graham’s TD celebration, but that doesn’t mean you can stop him from doing it.
Oh. That settles that.
He also scored a second touchdown against the Titans, and, yeah, he did it again:
Perhaps Graham will choose not to dunk over the crossbar during regular season games, knowing the ensuing 15-yard penalty on a kickoff will actually effect his team. But in a team scrimmage, he carried on with his celebration, drawing a flag from the refs, and now he's done it in a preseason game. But for now, he's carrying on and ignoring the NFL's fun-prevention taskforce.
After the TD, Jimmy relieved his stress with some good ol’ goalpost assault:
First, the NFL took away his signature celebration. Then, the NFL’s arbitrator took money away from him by ruling he was a tight end, not a wide receiver. We wholeheartedly endorse Jimmy Graham punching any non-living NFL items he pleases this season, and kinda hope he keeps dunking too.
