If you watch Game of Thrones, you probably live in fear of getting your face mashed in by The Mountain, the strongest man in Westeros. You don’t have to worry about this, since Westeros does not exist, so you do not need to fear getting raped/murdered/pummeled by the Mountain, aka Ser Gregor Clegane.
The Mountain from Game of Thrones is Europe’s Strongest Man, yells I AM THE FUTURE OF STRENGTH
He’s not just strong on TV! He’s also not just ABSOLUTELY TERRIFYING on TV.
However, Europe does exist, and the actor from the show who plays Ser Gregor, Hafpor Julius Bjornsson, is the strongest man there. Last week, the Icelandic manbeast won the Europe’s Strongest Man competition, and Danger Guerrero over at Uproxx unearthed this video of him doing the Atlas Stones, ripping his shirt off, and yelling I AM THE FUTURE OF STRENGTH, which somehow did not cause everybody to flee.
Let’s just watch that on repeat, actually:
AHHHH! AHHHH! AHHHHHHHHHH! Hafpor is a pretty well established strongman, finishing second in the 2014 World’s Strongest Man competition, and had a promising basketball career before knee injuries, so, no, he’s not just strong on the show.
Personally, we’d love to see a Hodor postgame interview -- well, we guess Arian Foster has been trying.
