Okay, first things first: there’s a new, 85-foot-tall banner of South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier:
Steve Spurrier doesn’t want people throwing eggs at his banner
That’s a lot of banner to throw eggs at.

— William Gunter (@WillGunter560) August 23, 2014 Naturally, when asked about it, Spurrier said some pretty typical things about it. Like that it really classes up the joint:
#Spurrier on the new 85' photo of him on the stadium: "...trying to beautify it and so forth." #HeadTallCoach
— Brandi Mills (@BrandiCMills) August 24, 2014 And that he thinks this could go south in a hurry:
Spurrier on 85' banner: "Hopefully we can keep winning. I don’t want people coming by throwing eggs at it. And that could happen."
— Josh Kendall (@JoshatTheState) August 24, 2014 And of course, being self-effacing with a side of shade at his SEC opponents.
Steve Spurrier: "The year we won the division we were 5-3 (in the SEC). Gosh, we lost to Kentucky that year."
— Josh Kendall (@JoshatTheState) August 24, 2014 Please never change, Steve. And if you ever fall out of favor with the school, we’ll gladly take that banner off their hands.
