Everyone hates the name ‘Selig Hall of Fame Plaza’

Except for 43 weirdos.

SB Nation’s Padres blog, Gaslamp Ball, has been all over the absolutely bizarre decision to change the name of a Petco Park plaza to “Selig Hall of Fame Plaza.” Selig was in San Diego this week, which led to totally normal and completely uncoincidental comments like this:

“I’m working on All-Star Games. I’m going to do that, particularly with [Commissioner-elect] Rob Manfred,” Selig said. “The only thing I’ll tell you about San Diego is, I like their chances.”

Huh. Well, the San Diego Union-Tribune thought that they would poll their readers to see how they felt. Takin’ the pulse of the people. Let’s see how that’s going:

Those 43 people aren’t going to be bullied into conforming to your precious standards. They’re just freaks. Weirdos and freaks.

(Fewer people agree on the moon landings being real, by the way.)
