Meet ‘Dødsing,’ the weird Norwegian sport of belly-flopping

This is brilliant and stupid, all rolled into one.

Have you ever stood on top of a high-dive board, thinking about possibly jumping but being a little afraid of the height? That fear is based on one thing: Belly-flopping really hard and getting seriously injured, or worse. Now meet the Norwegian sport of “dødsing,” where that fear is the goal.

Essentially the idea is to remain as flat as possible for the longest, all while diving in style. Right before entry, the divers curl their body to prevent injury, but that’s it. Special credit goes to this dude, who did the “Haters gonna hate” strut all the way to the water.
