Vin Scully impersonates an umpire who has been hit in the nuts, is the best

Vin Scully can joke about genitalia and make it sound homey. He is a national treasure.

We cannot count the ways Vin Scully is the best, although if you’d like a bunch of them, read Cee Angi’s longform about the venerable Dodgers announcer. And after 65 years on the mic, he keeps adding ways.

Here he is announcing an umpire nutshot by doing an imitation of somebody who has just been hit in the genitals:

He slips it seamlessly into his coverage of the baseball game, and doesn’t do that awkward thing announcers always do where they say something like “he’s been hit in ... a ... SENSITIVE AREA” or some other stupid giggly euphemism. Vin Scully is the best, and he remains the best.

For what it's worth, the umpire's post-nutshot adjustment is worth watching, too:
