New York Giants running back David Wilson was forced to retire on Wednesday afternoon, following the advice of doctors after he suffered a second neck injury. Wilson missed 11 games in 2013 with the aforementioned neck injury before suffering a severe burner in his first training camp practice this summer.

Give Wilson credit, he did not want any pity despite being dealt a tough hand. Even through tears, Wilson displayed toughness in the face of watching his lifelong dream slip away. Hopefully, Wilson can return to a normal life and make a success of himself going forward.
