— FOX Sports: MLB (@MLBONFOX) January 16, 2015 This was the first World Dog Awards, shown on The CW. The criteria for "Dog of the Year" was apparently that the dog "made the biggest impact on pop culture in 2014," and should not be interpreted as a sign that other dogs are not good dogs, because all dogs are good dogs and should have their heads tousled and bellies rubbed. There was a vote on The CW's website, and Hank won that vote. Other categories included "Most Pawpular" and "Best Movie Dog" and stuff like that.
SB Nation has been on top of the Hank story since the very beginning and we are very very very happy to see Hank get his due. Our only question is whether Hank is eligible for future Dog of the Year awards, because he should be because he’s a good dog.
