This is what happens when a race car hits an opossum

Driver Andy Lally was unable to finish the 24-hour Rolex 24 race after hitting an opossum early Sunday morning. Later, his team found the deceased animal in the front trunk of Lally’s Porsche 911 GT America.

For the record, he hit the opossum hard enough for the radiators to bend.

Lally’s crew posthumously named the opossum “Ballast,” according to For The Win. Let us remember Ballast in happier times:

Please watch out for opossums out there, everyone. For your sake, as well as theirs.
