This is pretty sound logic. One is a steaming hot pile of fries covered in gravy and cheese, and the other is a crusty old world leader.

Canada went on to win the World Junior Championship for the first time since 2009 by beating Russia 5-4. So yeah, Poutine > Putin. Deal with it, Russia.
