Nick Young attributes ‘Swaggy P’ to Old Testament

Swaggy P gives the latest explanation for where his nickname comes from and does some slapstick comedy with Jeremy Lin.

This is the latest iteration in Young’s explanations of his nickname. Last season, he said God came to him in a dream and gave him the moniker I’m like, ‘you know what God? That is a funny name! I might need to run with it! So, something religious is going on. But Nick wasn’t done:

Most likely Young knew Lin was from somewhere in California but didn’t know the exact location, but we prefer imagining he doesn’t understand the concept of second-generation American citizens.
