Rob Konrad played fullback for the Dolphins from 1999-2004. Wednesday night, he was fishing several miles out on the Atlantic Ocean when he fell off his boat. For many, that would be the end. Not for Rob Konrad (via Miami’s WPLG)
Former Dolphins FB swims 9 hours to shore after falling off boat
This is so incredible, we’re not even going to make a joke about “lol of course Dolphins are good at swimming”

[Konrad] survived a fall into the ocean off Palm Beach by swimming nine miles back to shore... [he]remained in the Atlantic Ocean for at least nine hours as he swam about nine miles back to safety.
The boat was on autopilot, so he couldn’t swim back to it. By comparison, swimmers in a long course triathlon only go 1.2 miles. (Only.)
Konrad, a second-round pick of the Dolphins out of Syracuse in 1999, had 114 rushing yards and 854 receiving yards in six seasons for the Dolphins, scoring seven touchdowns.
