Like his brother, Markieff Morris, Marcus Morris plays basketball with a bit of anger. Anger leads to technical fouls. Technical fouls lead to lots of fines. Last season, Morris shelled out $19,000 in fines related to technical fouls.
Marcus Morris says Reggie Jackson is paying his fines this year for the Pistons

That’s a lot of money to pay just so you can be angry playing basketball. That kind of money can make you rethink whether or not it’s worth it to play so aggressively UNLESS you have someone willing to pay your debts so you don’t have to hold back on the court.
From the looks of things, Morris has found a sponsor who will let him keep playing with an edge in his new teammate Reggie Jackson, according to David Mayo of MLive:
"He told me today he's going to pay for my techs, so that's a plus," Morris said after the Pistons' Wednesday morning practice, the second day of training camp.
Awwwwww, how sweet. For what it’s worth, Jackson refused to confirm he was paying Morris’ fines when asked, but he definitely didn’t deny it either:
”We aren’t going to go on public record saying that, necessarily, but we’ve got to be a team. I wouldn’t tell y’all if I do that but I’ve got to take care of my team. I wouldn’t tell y’all. It may happen, may not happen. But when guys take care of you, sometimes you’ve got to take care of guys.
It’s nice to see Jackson stepping up so his teammates don’t have to hold back because they’re worried about a fine. But at the same time, when everyone knows you just signed a $80 million deal, sometimes you just have to do things so your teammates don’t think you’re a snob.
