Will in Queens called in to Mike Francesa’s Sunday morning show to share his feelings about Chase Utley’s controversial takeout slide during Saturday night’s NLDS Game 2. The slide broke Mets shortstop Ruben Tejada’s leg, ending his season.

Will in Queens’ feelings were: profound sadness and profounder sadness.
Yeah, yeah, the play was dirty. Of course it was dirty. But what does it matter, now? Tejada is gone, and now the fate of the Mets, the fate of Queens and the fate, perhaps, of Will, are in the hands of Matt Harvey.
“This is his one chance,” Will in Queens said of Harvey. “Put the team on your shoulders and then you got my faith back in you. He has to do it tomorrow night. I want to see it done tomorrow night.”
“Thank you,” he said, his voice breaking, and hung up.
On Monday, Francesa got Will in Queens back on the show and invited him to join him at Monday night’s Dodgers–Mets game at Citi Field.
Will in Queens, who said he’ll be wearing his Harvey jersey to the game, did not cry this time.
