The Arizona Diamondbacks and Fox Sports offered members of Arizona State University’s Alpha Chi Omega sorority tickets to Thursday night’s game, according to the sorority, a day after its members drew national attention for taking pictures at an earlier game.

In a statement posted to Facebook, Alpha Chi Omega stated that its members declined the offer, and asked that tickets be given to an organization that provides domestic violence services instead.

One day earlier, several members of the sorority attended a game against the Colorado Rockies. Video of the women talking and taking selfies in the stands drew national attention Thursday.
The Diamondbacks’ announcers, Bob Brenly and Steve Berthiaume, joked about the women as the camera remained on them for nearly two minutes of the Fox Sports broadcast.
The national Alpha Chi Omega organization dedicates many of its resources to combating domestic violence, which has been the sorority’s national philanthropic cause since 1992. Its chapters, including ASU’s, hold events to raise money and awareness.
