The Chicago Cubs may have been swept out of the National League Championship Series by the New York Mets, but before they headed off to drown their sorrows in a long offseason, they did a very nice thing!
The Cubs gave David Wright 3rd base from Wrigley Field to commemorate NLCS win

— Jon Morosi (@jonmorosi) October 22, 2015 David Wright is in his 12th MLB season and while he’s experienced a lot of things, winning hasn’t been a major one. This season is just his second appearance in the postseason and he’ll now play in his first World Series. Throw in spinal stenosis that limited him to 38 regular season games and it’s been a challenging year. A year he will now get to remember with a pretty cool piece of memorabilia,
Good move by the Cubs to give it away before the Mets left town. That way they didn’t have to pay shipping like the Dodgers when they sent Jake Arrieta the 60-pound pitching rubber to commemorate his no-hitter.
