When a Jewish sports fan sees an athlete with a Jewish-sounding name, the next step is to figure out if the athlete is in fact Jewish. The link for the “List of Jews in sports” Wikipedia entry displays purple in Google on my computer. This matters!
So hearing Julian Edelman -- perhaps the most athletic Jew walking the Earth today -- self-identify as “Jew ... ish” brings a big dumb Jeremy Schaap grin to my face.
