California congressman sings ‘Meet The Mets’ on House Floor after losing Dodgers bet

Politicians putting friendly bets on sporting events is nothing new. But most of the time when you hear about them making wagers on their local teams, they’re offering up local delicacies or other products the area is famous for producing.

Usually you don't see these people in powerful positions risking their pride in these sports bets, but that's exactly what happened on Friday when California representative Adam Schiff had to sing "Meet the Mets" and wear a very crudely made Mets tie after losing a bet with New York representative Steve Israel over the Mets-Dodgers series. While it’s nice to see politicians finding unique ways to celebrate sports, no one wins when congresspeople have to sing on camera.
