On the one hand, not being able to recognize the pitcher who just tossed a masterful complete game two-hitter in the World Series is really bad.
On the other hand, Johnny Cueto’s brother Danillo does really look like him. Wearing a Royals jersey didn’t help matters either. I mean look at this, they do look a lot alike:
— Johnny Cueto (@JohnnyCueto) October 24, 2015 Even with the resemblance, being a credentialed media member and not being able to tell a dang starting pitcher from his brother is bad and had to be extremely embarrassing. Especially, considering how selective World Series credentials are. You’d think those in attendance would know enough to say “hey that’s not the guy we just watched pitch for three hours.” At least this reporter wasn’t the only one to ever make the mistake.
I asked Danillo Cueto (through interpreter) how often he gets mistaken for Johnny: "All the time. Everybody."
