A baby-faced Karl-Anthony Towns interviewed Kevin Durant once and it was only a little awkward
“Today I enjoyed the unique opportunity to meet one of my basketball idols,” begins a stiffly smiling Towns.

TNT recently unearthed footage of a teenage Karl-Anthony Towns interviewing Kevin Durant, and it is great.
“Today I enjoyed the unique opportunity to meet one of my basketball idols,” begins a stiffly smiling Towns, then a freshman at St. Joseph High School in Metuchen, N.J.
“Did anyone in your whole life playing basketball -- did they ever make you feel that you had to work harder than them, and they acted like they were better just to make you feel like a better player and be a better player?” Towns asks Durant.
“Yeah, for sure,” Durant replies. “My brother was always a guy who pushed me to be the best I could be.”
Yahoo! Sports reports:
That maturity made an impression on Durant, who looked back on his meeting with Towns during a recent interview with HoopsHype.
“Yeah, he was really sharp,” Durant said. “He was wise beyond his years. That was something I picked up on, really, as soon as I started talking to him.”
Towns closes by wishing Durant “continued success.”
