In an all-Bulldog matchup, The Citadel went up against no. 24 Butler University at Hinkle Fieldhouse. Prior to the game, the Indianapolis Star's game preview acknowledged the seemingly lopsided matchup. Butler head coach Chris Holzmann even admitted to the Indianapolis Star that the game "could be kind of wild and hairy sometimes."
Butler completely decimated The Citadel 144-71
The scoreboard looks downright scary, and it broke some records in the process.

But outscoring a team by a whopping 73 points is a little more than wild and hairy. It’s even a record for the basketball program.

— James Fesenmeier (@jfesenmeier) November 15, 2015 Butler’s highest scorer was guard Kellen Dunham, who scored 24. That’s not many points given the the monumental score. Every player that suited up got a chance to score, with seven of those players scoring in double digits. Among those scorers are starters Tyler Wideman and Roosevelt Jones who scored 18 apiece, as well as reserve forward Jackson Davis who ended his night with 19.
The Citadel had two high scorers with 13 points. Aside from them, one other person scored in double digits.
What’s more, Butler scored the most points for a Division I team since 1997.
