Mount St. Joseph runs play for Lauren Hill, a year after living her dream as a college basketball player

Lauren Hill lost her battle to an inoperable brain tumor in April, but her teammates at Mount St. Joseph are still keeping her legacy alive.

Last November, Mount St. Joseph set up a play for Hill. She then scored a layup to a standing ovation. This year, Division I Xavier and Division III Mount St. Joseph held their season openers in the first annual Lauren Hill Tipoff Classic.

And just like the beginning of last season, the Mount St. Joseph players ran a play for Hill–the exact same play as last year—only this time their teammates placed the ball on the court, stopped the play, and joined their opponents as they all pointed towards the sky in tribute to their teammate.
