Watch John Oliver go after FanDuel, brought to you by FanDuel
John Oliver is spot on about daily fantasy sports.

John Oliver devoted a whole 20 minutes of Sunday’s Last Week Tonight to daily fantasy sports and the tangled web they’ve woven through sports and media alike.
Critics of the hugely popular betting sites -- DraftKings and FanDuel, most notably -- argue that they constitute illegal gambling. The companies and their supporters contend that they are in fact games of skill.

Last week, New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman announced plans to ban DraftKings and FanDuel from operating within the state, prompting supporters to rally outside Schneiderman’s Manhattan office last week. DraftKings and FanDuel have each filed suit to fight the prospective ban.

After noting a series of news segments in which reporters covering daily fantasy sports were forced to disclose their companies’ preexisting partnerships with the sites, Oliver made a disclosure of his own.
“In fact, just so you know: HBO is a subsidiary of Time Warner,” said Oliver, “which means that this joke about being compromised is, in a sense, brought to you by FanDuel.”
