Gregg Popovich doesn’t have enough time during TV interview to explain Spurs’ early struggles

San Antonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovich is master of the troll in-game interview. So when he was down early against the New Orleans Pelicans, he decided to kick it into high gear.

When asked by ESPN’s Marc Kestecher about what happened during the rest of the first quarter, Coach Pop went all in and asked, “You want me to go through the whole thing?”

Popovich was justifiably frustrated given that LaMarcus Aldridge had gone to the locker room with a sprained ankle, but Kestecher had the best opportunity to call his bluff. What if he accepted Popovich’s offer? Maybe then Coach Pop would have given an actual response instead of shaking his head and saying, “We didn’t play well.”

To be fair, he took a timeout a minute after the interview. Maybe he figured out why they weren’t playing well at that point.
