Houston WR makes improbable catch after ball bounces off his shoulder pads
Houston Cougars wide receiver Demarcus Ayers almost lost the ball on this pass in two ways: 1) An interception from Navy’s Brendon Clements, which he missed; and 2) the ball bouncing off Ayers’ shoulder pads instead of landing in his hands. Thankfully, the spirit of ballet found Ayers, and he made this sweet catch on a quick-thinking second try.
Later on in the third quarter, Ayers made this ridiculous, one-handed catch for a touchdown:
