Some Ohio State players were locked out of their hotel rooms night before Michigan game

James Dator has been covering a wide range of sports for SB Nation for over a decade, with a special focus on the NFL.
Rivalry week is serious business -- ESPECIALLY when you’re talking about Ohio State and Michigan. The Buckeyes arrived in Ann Arbor on Friday night and some players got a rude surprise: Their hotel room keys didn’t work.
Naturally some Michigan fans are claiming victory on social media, saying “OSU’s in for a rough morning!” but let’s be real here. This is a minor inconvenience. The video was posted before 11 p.m. Do you really think college athletes will be wrecked by staying up until midnight, or for that matter, that anyone on Michigan was in bed with a glass of warm milk at 10 p.m.?
That said, one of college football’s best rivalries is already better this week. Michigan is coming strong with pranks like this, while Ohio is banning khakis and the letter “M”. We’ll wait to see how Ohio State responds to this latest prank at noon.
