This PSA shows what it would look like if the media treated male athletes like they treat female athletes

A campaign called Cover the Athlete recently put up a video calling for better coverage of female athletes. As their website points out, there is an ongoing problem with how the sports media covers female athletes, namely how the focus is not on their athleticism, but on their looks.
The video above shows what it would look like if male athletes received the same questions that their female peers are regularly asked. It’s obvious these clips are dubbed and edited to look like the men were actually asked these questions; there’s even a disclaimer in the YouTube description making that note.
However, the last clip is real. An interviewer really asked tennis player Eugenie Bouchard to twirl and talk about her outfit, which justifiably angered many tennis fans:
Treating female athletes with as much respect as male athletes shouldn’t be that hard. Just don’t resort to asking questions about their looks. The sports media at large can and must do better than this. It’s a simple reminder to stop being awful to women in sports.
