Like many other NBA teams on Tuesday night, the Philadelphia 76ers won a basketball game. Unlike those other teams, however, this win wasn’t just a drop in the bucket for the Sixers. The win snapped Philadelphia’s 28-game losing streak dating back to last season.
The 76ers finally won a game! Here are 14 things that occurred since their last win
Is was the 76ers first win since a March 25 victory against the Denver Nuggets. Although the NBA offseason took up a good portion of the time, Philadelphia still went more than eight months between victories. Some babies were nearly conceived and born in the time it took the Sixers to win another game.
Here are some other things that occurred since Philadelphia last won a regular season basketball game.
- The Warriors won 44 games including the postseason. FORTY-FOUR GAMES.
- The entire MLB season and postseason happened. Yes, all 2,466 games.
- The Chicago Cubs became good and even won a postseason series.
- No one knew how to dab, now even Chris Berman is doing it.
- Luke Ridnour was traded FOUR times and decided to sit out the 2015-16 season.
- Stephen Curry made 242 three-pointers.
- 19 Republican candidates announced their candidacy for president, four of which have already withdrawn.
- Tom Brady was suspended four games for DeflateGate, appealed the suspension, won his appeal and has played 11 games.
- Kobe Bryant went from saying he wants to play all 82 games to announcing he will retire.
- The entire Drake-Meek Mill feud came and went.
- Jordan Spieth won two majors and earned $20,122,668 in prize money.
- Adele has sold more than 3.5 million copies of her new album.
- 126 college football teams won at least one game and they only play 12.
- 19 different players played at least a minute for the Sixers during the streak.
Really when you think about it, it’s more impressive than it is sad. It’s really hard to not win at least one game. Even good NBA teams don’t take every regular season game seriously. You’d think the 76ers would have caught a team lagging on the second of a back-to-back or a long road trip. Instead, they ended last season on a losing streak and kept losing and losing.
But all that is over now! The Sixers are riding a one-game wining streak ... at least until they play the Knicks on Wednesday.
