At Tuesday night’s National Football Foundation Dinner, former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Roger Staubach told a joke about an always-amusing subject: concussions! Staubach made out that he couldn’t remember who NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell was -- on account of all those concussions he suffered during his playing career, see.

Staubach, as a refresher, declined to join thousands of former players’ lawsuit against the NFL. In 2013, he told USA Today, “I don’t think the NFL initially tried to hide the fact that you might have dementia one day because you’ve had a concussion.” The Hall of Fame quarterback suffered as many as 20 concussions over the course of his career, and attributed his decision to retire in 1980 to his injuries.
