Ronda Rousey is still crushed after losing her title to Holly Holm, but the loss wasn’t going to stop Rousey from keeping a promise. Back in September, Marine Lance Cpl. Jarrod Haschert sent a message to the MMA superstar asking if she would be his date to the Marine Ball. Countless men have tried, but he was the only person she said “yes” to.
Rousey told TMZ that she wasn’t going to back down from her promise.
“I promised I’d go. It’s an honor to be asked. Honestly, I probably would stay on my couch crying and eating ice cream for like another month if he didn’t ask me to go.”
It would have been forgivable if Rousey wanted to stay away from the cameras while she recovers from her loss, but this event was too important to skip. Bravo Ronda for keeping your promise. It’s rumored Rousey will have her rematch against Holm in July of 2016, but until then maybe it’ll be more Netflix and chill.
