Will Barton gets a technical foul for chucking Trevor Ariza’s shoe

When someone loses a shoe in the NBA, the only true rule is there are no rules. From throwing your shoe at an opponent to chucking an opponent’s shoe away from him to blocking your opponent from throwing a shoe to a teammate, anything and everything is fair game.

So with that in mind, Will Barton took advantage of the pre-existing NBA trends when he snatched Trevor Ariza’s shoe and chucked it.

Despite the fact that shoe nonsense is clearly an accepted practice, Barton did receive a technical foul for it. Ariza wasn’t happy about it, either, and there was some hostility between the sides. Instead of getting angry, Ariza should have read our guide of what athletes should do when they lose a shoe.
