Everyone went nuts because Kobe doesn’t really do this anymore. D’Angelo Russell got a liiiiittle too excited.
See Russell scamper back into the frame there? Yeah, he bolted right onto the court and got a technical for it -- which Kobe called “the best tech that D’Angelo will ever get.”
The cutest part was Kobe and D’Angelo arguing about who should pay the fine, via ESPN’s Baxter Holmes:
At first, Russell thought, “How much is that? How much am I going to be fined?”
Then he ran up to Bryant.
“Hey man, you’ve got to pay my tech on that one,” Russell told him.
Bryant said he replied, “Meh, you ran the baseline on your own free will.”
