Listen to Mike Francesa’s brain turn into a pretzel trying to understand the order of ‘Star Wars’ movies

James Dator has been covering a wide range of sports for SB Nation for over a decade, with a special focus on the NFL.
Mike Francesa is a New York radio host accustomed to talking about sports, contracts and statistics -- but the concept of 4, 5 and 6 being after 1, 2 and 3 in the Star Wars universe is something that came from a galaxy far, far away.
On Friday afternoon Francesa decided he wanted to know more about Star Wars and, more specifically, George Lucas’ role in the trilogy. This started the descent into madness. Here is how it went down:
“What do you mean 4,5 and 6 are the first three?”
“Who cares? You release a movie, then your release another movie, then another one. So the first movie they released was one. That was the first movie they released. How is it four”?
“Why would it be four if it was the first movie they released?”
“How do you start with part four is nobody had seen the first movie?”
“How was it four? What was it four of?”
“If no-one has seen it, how is it four?”
“So he decided in his realm we’re going to count differently. We’re start with four, five, six and then go one, two, three. That’s how we’re gonna count.”
“This makes no sense.”
The force is not strong with this one.
