On Tuesday, the L.A. Galaxy announced that they had transferred Omar Gonzalez to C.F. Pachuca, after playing with Los Angeles for seven years. It’s devastating for Galaxy fans, but C.F. Pachuca seems pretty thrilled that Gonzalez is with the team now, because he dressed up as Darth Vader for the press conference:

— PressPort (@pressportmx) December 22, 2015 My Spanish is rusty, but if I had to guess why Darth Vader is appropriate here, it’d be because Gonzalez is a member of the USMNT. He’s joining Liga MX, who’s full of players that have had to face the USMNT many times. It’s that type of nuance that makes the Star Wars’ dark side/light side angle even sweeter for this announcement.
Also, Darth Vader’s got an adorable smile.
