Jets give up scoop-and-score TD to Patriots on Ryan Fitzpatrick fumble

Ryan Fitzpatrick’s arm was so close to going forward in time.

The Jets had a 17-6 lead and all the momentum against the Patriots when a fumble by Ryan Fitzpatrick was scooped up by Jamie Collins and returned for a New England touchdown. Replays showed that the ball came out of Fitzpatrick’s hand just before his arm started going forward.

After reviewing the play, officials confirmed the ruling on the field that Fitzpatrick’s hand didn’t start moving forward with the ball until after he lost control.

It was the first touchdown of the day for the Patriots and completely swung momentum in their favor as things were starting to slip away. Beating New England never comes easy, folks.
